REBUILDING TOGETHER: HOMEOWNERS

Candidates for the Rebuilding Together program are pre-screened and qualified by our staff in conjunction with neighborhood committees in 5 targeted New Orleans neighborhoods.

• Broadmoor
• Esplanade Ridge/Treme
• Faubourg St. Roch
• Hollygrove
• Holy Cross

Eligibility Requirements

• The homeowner listed on the title must be 62 years or older.
• If under 62 years of age, the homeowner must be handicapped or disabled and receiving SSI or SSDI.
• Homeowner must have resided in the home prior to Hurricane Katrina and intend to return to or remain in the home indefinitely, barring catastrophic illness or death.
• Household income is not to exceed 80% of the 2007 HUD Adjusted Median Family Income.
• The home must not need to be raised or has already been raised.
• If the house was flooded, gutting must already be complete.
• Homeowner must have completed settlements with insurance company(s) if insured.
• The home must be in one of the five target neighborhoods for 2008.
